Good Morning Friends,
“‘Surely the day is coming; it will burn like
a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day
that is coming will set them on fire,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘Not a root or a
branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun of
righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap
like calves released from the stall.’” (Malachi 4:1-2)
The judgment day of the Lord will be a
horrible day. It is a frightening prospect. His judgment will be severe. Those
who face His judgment will be destroyed. On that day it will be too late to cry
out for mercy.
But not all will find the day of the Lord’s
judgment frightening and horrible. For those of us who love the Lord and follow
Him that day will be the day of our healing.
Our land will be healed so that sin will no
longer dominate the culture in which we live.
We will be healed. The sin we still carry in
the weakness of our human nature will be done away with, cleansed completely
from us. We will be free from all sin.
It will be our day of freedom, like calves
released from the barn to run free in the pasture. That day will be the day of
release from all that binds us.
There need be no fear at the prospect of the
day of the Lord. In Christ, we can welcome it!
